Education, Training & Expertise
When you see the "L.Ac." after a practitioner's name, it means they are licensed by the State of California to practice Chinese Medicine (acupuncture and herbalism) in California. If you're unsure of a practitioner's licensure status, you can check online here. In order to maintain licensure, acupuncturists practicing in California must also fulfill requirements for Continuing Education, completing a total of 55 units biannually.
These combined educational and ongoing licensure requirements mean that acupuncturists working in California are among the most highly qualified in the country.
